Cocktail Mimosa: the recipe for the fresh Sunday aperitif!

Cocktail Mimosa: the recipe to amaze your guests with a fresh and sparkling aperitif!

Il MIMOSA cocktail is a sparkling and fresh aperitif based on orange juice and champagne, popular and loved all over the world. The Mimosa cocktail was invented in France in 1925 by a barman at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, who gave this drink is the name of the yellow flower that recalled its color, mimosa. A few years earlier, in 1921, Buck's Fizz was born in London, a cocktail almost identical to Mimosa, which takes its name from the place in which it is was invented. In Italy the Mimosa cocktail is usually served as an aperitif, while in America it is consumed especially during Sunday brunch, as a sparkling alternative to the classic orange juice. The preparation is really easy and fast, ideal if you want to surprire your guests with class and taste!

HOW TO PREPARE THE MIMOSA COCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS FOR TWO GLASSES:

Champagne or Prosecco Brut: 200 ml

Orange juice: 200 ml

PROCEDURE:

Cut the Sicilian orange in half, cut two slices of oranges for the garnish, squeeze the orange and filter through a narrow mesh strainer. Pour the juice into a flute and add the very cold sparkling wine. Garnish the drink with the orange slice. Your Mimosa cocktail is ready to be served cold and sparkling!

TIPS: Use fresh orange juice, if you use juices already made you will not get the same taste. Due to the easiness of the recipe, prepare your Mimosa Cocktail on the spot!
